THE 2nd ANNUAL SYDNEY SPRING FAT TYRE FESTIVAL IS BACK ON!!!

Sorry that we've taken so long to get the website updated, but it's been a busy year for the Wannaride crew. We went to New Zealand in February, Canberra in May, and have had a couple new little additions to the family. Hugh has been busy with his bike shop in Sydney and Josh has been managing the very successful Rockstar Racing Team. But we're back at it now, busy planning the race at Ourimbah and getting the track in pristine condition, as well as planning a few more trips around Oz and another New Zealand adventure. 2008 SYDNEY SPRING FAT TYRE FESTIVAL

The 2nd Annual Sydney Spring Fat Tyre Festival presented by JP Morgan and Kona is an exciting 8 1/4 hour XC endurance race to be held on November 23rd, 2008. This year's event will again be raced on the smooth, fast, and flowing singletrack of the Ourimbah State Forest cross country trails near Wyong just 100km north of the Sydney CBD.

N-Z 24 Hour

N-Z 24 Hour

In February 2007 and 2008 we took friends and customers over to New Zealand to ride the amazing trails around Rotorua and Taupo and then race the NZO 24hr event in Rotorua. The tracks there are absolutely amazing! After two trips over we are still finding new trails that have been built by the outstanding local riders, and can't believe that each one is better than the last. No one that went could imagine that you could go that fast on a mountain bike...eyes watering, arms pumped, brakes screaming, and dirt stuck in your teeth from smiling the whole way down. We can't get enough, so we're heading back again! February 2009 is in the works. Click below for more details.

Wannaride is also planning a few trips around the great big beautiful country of Australia. We took a group of riders down to Canberra in May to ride the fast flowing singletrack of Sparrow Hill and the killer new track at Mt Stromlo. The team here is planning some more rides and weekend getaways with the first one being a social ride / BBQ / pre-race recon mission to the trail up at Ourimbah. We teamed up with one of our sponsors, City Bike Depot in the Sydney CBD, and will be hosting a ride day and BBQ on Sunday, September 14th.
